M&T Bank Supports Students, Empowers Women

M&T Bank Charitable Foundation partners with the Capital Area Food Bank recognizing the vital role that nutritious meals play in student success. M&T Bank is thrilled to support the College to Career initiative that directly addresses food insecurity among the Northern Virginia Community College students in highly viable academic and workforce certification programs. This initiative brings community colleges and employers together in support of students’ basic needs while completing their academic programs. By ensuring that students have access to healthy reliable food, Capital Area Food Bank aims to alleviate some of the burdens that could hinder academic achievement and personal growth.

With M&T Bank’s Charitable Foundation contribution of $300,000, the goals of the College to Career program are to encourage degree/certification completion, promoting workforce development and economic stability for the students.

M&T Bank is also a proud supporter of Women Giving Back, an organization that supports women and children in crisis on a first step to stability by providing quality clothing at no cost, assisted by a caring and committed community. For the last 6 years, M&T Bank has hosted a Women’s Empowerment Luncheon to introduce senior women leaders and their companies to the work of Women Giving Back. This year, the luncheon raised over $171,000, and M&T Bank featured Women Giving Back on a television ad through our partnership NBC4/Telemundo44 that aired during Women’s History Month in March.
