Realtors Care About Community
Members of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® (NVAR) not only build community by helping people make their home in Northern Virginia, Realtors® are also good neighbors. Through efforts of their Cares Committee, Young Professional Network and staff team, NVAR has supported the families of Northern Virginia – including their canine counterparts, through donations of food, holiday costumes and more.
Each year NVAR also honors members who go above and beyond to give back to the Northern Virginia community. In 2021, NVAR honored Dallison Veach as the 2021 NVAR Good Neighbor for her work with The Brain Foundation, and named Metro Homes DMV recipient of the 2021 NVAR Brokerage Spirit Award for their organization-wide commitment to giving back, with 10% of Realtor® commissions donated to charitable causes:
Food Drive: Staff members of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® donated groceries to Food for Others as part of a holiday food drive. CEO Ryan McLaughlin displays a ceremonial check representing a benchmarked dollar-match from the association.
Yappy Hour: Members and Staff of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® brought their canine family members to a springtime “Yappy Hour” in their “barking lot” in support of Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation.
Costume Drive1: The Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® Young Professionals Network and Cares Committee held a Halloween costume drive for children supported by Second Story, which provides safe havens and opportunities for youth experiencing homelessness and families in crisis.
